How to use reusable coffee pods

There are so many reasons why home coffee enthusiasts are switching to reusable coffee pods in droves! Eco-friendly refillable capsules are literally changing the game, not only because they divert countless plastic waste from ending up in our landfills, but also because they work out to be far cheaper than disposable pods. Saving both money and the environment? What's not to love!

Reusables also give you the luxury of being able to brew your favourite coffee beans in the comfort of your home. Sustainable, economical, and delicious coffee is at your fingertips. So, how do they work? Let's find out.

Step 1. Fill

Fill the reusable capsule with your favourite ground coffee (whether it be organic, fair trade, or even decaf).

Step 2. Tamp

Use the back of a scoop, tamp or other implement compatible with your pod,  to compact the coffee.

Step 3. Top up

To ensure the capsule is filled to the top, add more ground coffee, followed by a final, firm tamp.

Step 4. Scrape excess

Remove excess coffee from the rim of the capsule with the scoop handle.

Step 5. Apply lid

Apply a lid to the top of the refillable pod. 

Note: There are a range of lid options available based on your needs - whether you choose a brewing system that utilises stainless steel, aluminium, paper or a silicone lid. These different options are going to produce varying results, so it's important to do your research and consider what will suit your lifestyle and machine best.
